120 | The Space Between
I’ve been humming and hawing over the idea of shooting film, seeking something ephemeral, mechanical, analog. My brother and best friend Mike gave this medium format Bronica SQ-A, after it sitting as a book weight for some time. Despite its weight I enjoy the intentionality you have to meet it with when photographing off a role of 12 shots. Less intimidating, and mildly discreet, the waist level view finder also adds an interesting touch to the experience. I’ve yet to get a light meter, so all of the photos you see here, are simply based on trying to understand the lighting at the instant. Every time I get film processed I’d say it feels like Christmas morning, here are some of my favourites.
